STREAM Integration

STREAM is integrated into the curriculum of each of our classes.

  • Technology/STREAM Class – Technology is any tool used to meet a need based on scientific observation.  Our technology class at St. Peters encompasses computer basics, coding, robotics, and engineering.  We have transitioned our technology class into STREAM.  This is a project based class that applies the Engineering Design Process to a variety of problems large and small.  Technology such as Virtual Reality design, 3D printing and design, Google Suite, Canva, Scratch, Bitsbox, Robotics, Little Bits, Maker Space materials, Sewing, Baking, and anywhere else our curiosity leads us are used based on the solutions we imagine.
  • Religion is integrated into our STREAM class in two ways.  First of all, we observe the world around us and relate the lessons we learn to our spiritual life. Secondly we apply the Engineering Design Process to help us with our service projects to show others the love of Jesus.  This year the 6th grade made cookie decorating kits with 3D printed cookie cutters to raise money for The Francis Center.
  • STREAM based Clubs – Robotics, Kitchen Chem and Future City are some of our after school STREAM clubs.  Our Theater Tech program is also very involved.  Lighting, sound and set design are a big part of making our musical amazing and our student tech team really stepped it up this year.
  • X-STREAM games are held in May each year.  We show case our STREAM activities at St. Joe’s Collegiate Institute in Buffalo.  In the 2023 games, St. Peter’s took first place in Robotics, 2nd and 3rd in Arcade Academy and Best Transformation in Kitchen Chem.
  • STREAM Career Connections – If you are in a STREAM field and would like to share with our students, please contact Mrs. Wright at hwright@stpeterrc.org.
Sin Fuego - Our Future City
Second Place!

Future City 2022-23

Our Middle School Students are tasked with a designing a city 100 years in the Future.  The 22-23 prompt was Climate Change.  Our students created Sin Fuego, a city that addressed the prevention of forest fires for our California city.  We were so proud of our team.  They developed a model, an essay and presented their work for judges winning second place over all.  The winning team travels to DC to compete in the national competition.  Next year’s theme is “Electrify Our World” and our wheels are already turning.  Students will work after school with Mrs. Wright to prepare for competition.
