Through various service projects and community engagement initiatives, we instill in our students a sense of responsibility and a desire to contribute to the common good. Our commitment to holistic education ensures that our graduates are not only academically prepared but also morally and socially equipped to navigate the challenges of the world with empathy and integrity.

Who We Are

We offer smaller class sizes, dedicated and caring teachers and staff, and the freedom to share your beliefs in a sensitive and caring environment.

We provide your child with a high quality education, nurtured in the Spirit of the Lord, where all people are treated fairly, all needs are met individually, and all lives are treated respectfully as children of God.

Classes

PreK3 – 8th Grade

PreK 3: We offer PreK 3 programs for children turning 3 on or before December 1 or their entering year and children turning 4 on or before December 1 of their entering year for our PreK4 program.

Middle School: We also offer an opportunity for Grade 8 students to graduate with three high school credits (Algebra, Living Environment and Spanish).

All grades attend special areas of Music, Art, P.E., Spanish, Technology, Religion, Library and Friday Mass in addition to their core academic courses.

Core Beliefs

We believe that every child entrusted to our care is a Child of God and should be treated accordingly.  They are unique in their gifts and purpose and our mission is to encourage them in their journey to discover what God has in store for their life.  Through daily Religion class, Mass on Friday and an open integration of our Catholic Faith in our daily routines we hope to encourage our students to look outside of themselves and see how they can affect their world in a positive way.

S.T.R.E.A.M

Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics are not just classes at St. Peter’s.  These elements are woven throughout each day in each class in a variety of ways.  Our Technology class has transitioned to a STREAM class that students attend each week.  Technology is used within a broader cross-curricular project based curriculum with a focus on the Engineering Design Process.  Robotics, 3D printing and design, Virtual Reality experiences and design, Coding, Circuits, Engineering concepts, and using a variety of materials to accomplish desired goals such as food and textiles are all encompassed into this course at various levels.

Our curriculum integrates Catholic values, fostering moral and spiritual growth alongside academic excellence.

Our History

The parochial school of St. Peter Parish in Lewiston, NY, was established in September 1953 with the opening of a Kindergarten and First Grade in Hennepin Hall, named after Father Louis Hennepin, the first white man to see the Niagara and the first priest to say Mass in this area (as seen in the stained glass in the church).

After construction, in November 1958, the new school was ready to receive 277 students in grades 1-6. At this time the school name was changed from Hennepin Hall to St. Peter School.

Under the direction of Monsignor Anthony Caligiuri, a gym was added to the school in 1989 and the enrollment was 295 students, and the faculty and staff included two religious and 23 full/part time staff.

In 1999, the first lay Principal was appointed by Reverend Sebastian Pierro. Mr. James Allen became the first lay-Principal after the retirement of Sister M. Donald F.S.S.J.

Under Mr. Allen’s direction, the school began a Pre-Kindergarten program for four-year olds.

In 2017 a capital campaign at the Parish allowed for major renovations at the school which included a state-of-the-art media center and library, hi-end technology in every classroom, a completely refurbished kitchen and remodeled and updated furniture for all classrooms.

Through generous gifts of our benefactors, our long-awaited playground was dedicated in October 2018 with deep thanks to Dr. Irene Elia.
